250 cm konopca
2 trake duge 4 cm (za omčice u dnu ruksaka)
sigurnosna igla
flomasteri i žigovi za tkaninu – po želji

Postupak:

Oba komada pamučne tkanine prošijte po svim rubovima cik-cak bodom (time ćete spriječiti „cufanje“).

Gornji rub (onaj kraće stranice) ponovno presavijte 2 cm unutra i zapeglajte.

(Presavijeni dio trake bit će unutra, a van će viriti krajevi trake). Pričvrstite pribadačama.

Prošijte lijevu, a zatim i desnu stranu ruksaka od dna (svakako prošijte i umetnute trake!) pa sve do 5 cm ispod gornjeg ruba.

Presavijte gornji rub jedne strane 2 cm prema dnu i prošijte. Ponovite s drugom stranom.

Preokrenite ruksak.

Konop prerežite na 2 jednaka dijela.

Prvi, uz pomoć sigurnosne igle, provucite kroz „vodilicu“ na gornjem rubu ruksaka, a zatim kroz omču (od trakice) u donjem kutu. Prihvatite slobodan kraj konopca i svežite u čvor.

SUMMER BACKPACK

The longer and sunnier our days get, the more often we think of going to the beach and being outdoors. This simple backpack will help you keep all the small stuff you need at hand.

What you need:

40×100 cm piece of cotton fabric (for the backpack)
26×32 cm piece of cotton fabric (for the pocket)
250 cm long rope
2 ribbons, 4 cm long (for the loops at the bottom of the backpack)
a safety pin
fabric markers (optional)

Trim all edges of both pieces of cotton fabric with a zigzag stitch seam finish.

Fold 1 cm along all the edges inside of the “pocket” piece of fabric and iron.

Fold again one short hem of the pocket 2 cm inside and iron. Sew with a thread to secure your pocket opening.

Decorate the pocket or write a message using fabric markers. Leave for 30 minutes to dry and iron to fix the colour.

Fold the “backpack” piece of fabric into half (to 40×50 cm). The fold will be the bottom of your backpack.
Use pins to attach the pocket to the front side and sew.

Fold the backpack fabric inside out (the pocket will be inside now).

Fold each of the two ribbons in half and tuck into the left and right bottom corner of the backpack. The folded part of the ribbons (the loops) will be inside, while the ends will be sticking out. Secure with pins.
Sew the left and right hems of the backpack from the bottom (including the ribbons) up to 5 cm below the top hem.

Now you need to sew a “tunnel” for the rope on the top side of the backpack.
Fold the upper hem of one side of the backpack 2 cm downwards and sew. Repeat on the other side.

Turn outside in.

Cut the rope in half. Pull one piece through the “tunnel” with the help of a safety pin and lhrough the loop on the bottom corner. Take the free end of the rope and tie into a knot.
Repeat with the other half of the rope on the other side.

Pull the ropes to close the backpack and adjust the length so that it sits comfortably on your shoulders.
