ZAPEČENA BROKULA

Američki recept – za (američki) velika okupljanja

Sastojci:

1 velika brokula (ili 2 manje)
1 češanj češnjaka, jako sitno nasjeckan
2 jaja
2 šalice krem juhe od gljiva
½ šalice majoneze (1 vrećica)
100 g naribanog cheddar sira
50 g krekera
¼ šalice rastopljenog maslaca + za premazivanje
sol i papar po ukusu

Priprema:

Brokulu razdijelite na cvjetiće i skuhajte u vrućoj slanoj vodi. Ocijedite pa narežite na kockice.
U dubokoj zdjeli pomiješajte jaja, majonezu, juhu i češnjak pa dodajte brokulu i sir. Promiješajte. Posolite i popaprite po ukusu.
Pećnicu zagrijte na 170 °C.
Vatrostalnu posudu premažite maslacem pa u njoj rasporedite pripremljenu smjesu.
Krekere stavite u vrećicu za zamrzavanje, usitnite valjkom za tijesto ili prstima pa prelijte rastopljenim maslacem.
Tako pripremljene krekere posipajte po brokuli.
Pecite 30 minuta.

NAPOMENA: Originalan recept traži krem juhu od gljiva. No, možete je i zamijeniti bistrom domaćom juhom u koju ste umiješali 1 žlicu škrobnog brašna.

BAKED BROCCOLI

An American recipe for a large party

Ingredients:

1 large broccoli (or 2 small ones)
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
2 eggs
2 cups cream of mushroom soup
½ cup mayonnaise (1 package)
100 g cheddar cheese, grated
50 g crackers
¼ cup melted butter + some for brushing
salt and pepper to taste

Method:

Divide the broccoli into florets. Boil in salted water, sieve and dice.
Combine the eggs, mayonnaise, soup, and garlic in a large bowl. Stir in the broccoli and cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Preheat the oven to 170 °C.
Brush an oven-proof dish with butter. Pour in the mixture.
Place the crackers into a plastic bag and crumble by using a rolling pin or your fingers. Pour over with the melted butter.
Sprinkle over the broccoli mixture.
Bake for 30 minutes.

Note:

The original recipe calls for cream of mushroom soup, yet you can replace it with home-made consommé combined with 1 tbsp starch.
