“PICEK NA SAFT”

Staro moslavačko jelo koje mi najradije spremamo u tanjuru za kotlovinu nad vatrom

Sastojci:

1 pile, narezano na komade
1 manja glavica luka, nasjeckana na sitno
1 žlica slatke mljevene paprike
2-3 žlice brašna
2 dl kiselog vrhnja (domaćeg)
ulje

Priprema:

Lagano posolite meso.
U većoj tavi zagrijte ulje i na njemu lagano prepržite meso. Dodajte luk. Miješajte minutu-dvije da „povene“ pa dodajte mljevenu papriku. Podlijte s vodom i pirjajte dok meso ne omekša – 20-ak minuta. Po potrebi podlijevajte vodom.Kad je meso gotovo kuhano, dodajte sol i papar i vrhnje u kojem se razmutili brašno. Neka se sve lijepo sjedini.

Piceka na saft servirajte uz „temfani krumpir“ i zelenu salatu iz bakinog vrta.

“TEMFANI” KRUMPIR

Sastojci:

½ kg krumpira
1 dl kiselog vrhnja
1 žlica maslaca
sol

Priprema:

Krumpir ogulite, narežite na komade i skuhajte u slanoj vodi. Kuhani krumpir ocijedite i pritisnite vilicom u pire. Posolite, dodajte maslac (otopit će se od topline krumpira) i vrhnje. Sve dobro izmiješajte.

CHICKEN IN A SAUCE

(which we prefer to prepare in a large cast iron pan over an open fire)

Ingredients:

1 chicken, cut into pieces
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp sweet paprika
2-3 tbsp flour
2 dl sour cream (home-made)
oil

Method:

Season the meat with salt lightly.
Fry the meat briefly in heated oil, in a large pan. Add the onions and stir for a minute or two until it softens. Add the paprika, pour in some water and simmer until the meat is tender (for about 20 minutes). Pour in more water if needed.
When the meat is almost done, season with salt and pepper and add the sour cream combined with the flour. Make sure it is nicely combined.
Serve the chicken in a sauce with mashed potatoes and lettuce from your grandmother’s garden.

MASHED POTATOES

Ingredients:

½ kg potatoes
1 dl sour cream
1 tbsp butter
salt

Method:

Dice the peeled potatoes and boil them in salted water. Drain and mash with a fork. Season with salt, add the butter (which will melt thanks to the temperature of the potatoes) and the cream. Mix well.
