DOMAĆI KEKSI

Ove su kekse naše bake pekle, na štednjacima na drva, u kalupima koji su išli „od vrata do vrata“. Danas postoje tosteri za vafle i kekse u obliku srca koji će baš dobro poslužiti da ispečete ove tradicionalne kekse.

Sastojci:

250 g margarina ili masti
200 g šećera
5 jaja
1 prašak za pecivo
1 vanilin šećer
naribana korica limuna
300 – 400 g brašna

Priprema:

Pomiješajte šećer i margarin. Miješajući dodajte jaja, vanilin šećer i koricu limuna. Na kraju umiješajte toliko brašna da možete oblikovati kuglice veličine oraha (to će ovisiti o veličini vašeg kalupa).

Zagrijte kalupe za kekse.

Svaku kuglicu razvaljajte na pobrašnjenoj podlozi pa utisnite u zagrijan kalup. Poklopite i pecite 3 – 5 min (na tosterima obično postoji zelena lampica koja se upali kad je keks pečen).
Pecite dok ne potrošite svu smjesu.

Kekse pažljivo izvadite na tanjur da se ohlade.

Ohlađene kekse, po želji, pospite šećerom u prahu ili umočite u rastopljenu čokoladu.

Čuvajte ih u kutiji s poklopcem

HOME-MADE COOKIES

Our grandmothers used to bake cookies on wood burning stoves, in moulds that were borrowed from “door to door”. Today, there are waffle makers, some in the shape of hearts that will serve just fine for making these traditional cookies.

Ingredients:

250 g margarine or lard
200 g sugar
5 eggs
1 pouch baking powder
1 pouch vanilla sugar
grated lemon zest
300 – 400 g flour

Method:

Combine the sugar and margarine. Stir in the eggs, vanilla sugar and lemon zest. Add just enough flour to form walnut-size balls (the size depends on the size of your mould).

Preheat the waffle maker.

Roll out each ball on a flat surface dusted with flour and press into the preheated waffle iron. Cover with the lid and bake for 3-5 min (usually the indicator light turns green when baked).

Repeat until the mixture has been used up.

Arrange carefully on a serving plate and leave to cool.

Dust with icing sugar or dip in melted chocolate – to your liking.

Keep in any container with a lid.
