JABUKE U ŠLAFROKU

Jednostavna slastica naših baka

Sastojci:

3 jabuke

1 jaje

9 – 10 vrhom punih žlica mekog brašna

1 šalica mlijeka (240 ml)

1 vanilin šećer

1 žličica ruma

prstohvat soli

1 žličica ribane limunove korice

cimet – po želji

ulje za prženje

Upijajući ubrus

Priprema:

Jaje, vanilin, rum, limunovu koricu i cimet umutite pjenjačom.  Naizmjence dodajte brašno i  mlijeko da dobijete jednoličnu gustu smjesu.

 

Jabuke ogulite, izdubite im sredinu i narežite ih na kolutove debele 5 mm. Svaki kolut umačite u smjesu jaja i mlijeka i pržite na vrućem ulju dok s obje strane ne bude lijepo zlatnosmeđ.

Pržene jabuke vadite na upijajući papir da se ocijedi višak masnoće.

Poslužite ih uz kuglicu sladoleda, umak od vanilije ili posipane šećerom u prahu.

COATED APPLE FRITTERS

A simple delicacy by our grandmothers

Ingredients:

3 apples
1 egg
9-10 heaping teaspoons of soft wheat flour
1 cup (240 ml) milk
1 pouch vanilla sugar
1 teaspoon rum
a pinch of salt
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
cinnamon (optional)
frying oil
paper towels

Method:

Whisk the egg, vanilla sugar, rum, lemon zest, and cinnamon. Add the flour and milk alternately, to get a thick, uniform mixture.

Peel and core the apples, and cut them into 5 mm thick slices. Dip each slice in the egg mixture and fry in hot oil until both sides are nicely golden.

Remove the fritters and leave on paper towels to soak up the excess oil.

Serve with ice-cream, vanilla sauce or sprinkled with icing sugar.
