KRUTONI OD JUČERAŠNJEG KRUHA

Ukusan dodatak juhama i salatama i dobar način upotrebe starog kruha

Sastojci:

Kriške jučerašnjeg kruha – narezane na kockice

Sol

Maslinovo ulje ili rastopljen maslac

1 češanj češnjaka

Priprema:

U maslinovo ulje prešom istisnite češnjak. Dodajte sol, promiješajte i ostavite nekoliko minuta.

Na vatri zagrijte tavu, ulijte žlicu-dvije pripremljenog maslinjaka pa dodajte kockice kruha. Pecite okrećući drvenom lopaticom 5 minuta. Po potrebi dodajte još maslinovog ulja. Krutone pecite dok ne postanu zlatni i hrskavi.

Upotrijebite ih odmah ili ohlađene spremite u posudu s poklopcem i potrošite u roku od 3 dana.

Napomena: Radite li krutone od veće količine kruha, ispecite ih u pećnici.

CROUTONS MADE FROM YESTERDAY’S BREAD

A tasty addition to soups and salads and a great way of using stale bread

Ingredients:

slices of yesterday’s bread, diced
salt
olive oil or butter
1 clove garlic

Method:

Use a garlic press to squeeze the garlic into the olive oil. Season with salt, stir and leave to rest for several minutes.
Heat a large pan, add 1-2 tbsp of the oil and diced bread. Fry turning the bread with a wooden spatula for 5 minutes, until golden and crunchy. Add more oil if needed.
Use the croutons immediately or leave them to cool and then store in a sealed container – they keep well for up to 3 days.

Note: If you want to prepare a large amount of croutons, bake them in the oven.
