A traditional Brasilian sweets
1 can of condensed milk (400 ml)
4 tbsp chocolate (or cocoa) powder
1 tbsp butter
1 cup chocolate or coloured sprinkles
Combine the condensed milk, chocolate and butter in a pot. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until bubbles form on the surface. Reduce the heat to low.
Cook stirring constantly for about 15 minutes. Even though nothing will seem to happen for the first 10 minutes, during the last 5 the mixture will begin thickening. Cook until the mixture is thick enough to separate from the pot.
Lightly greese a large plate with butter. Transfer the cooked mixture on the plate. Throwel to equal thickness and leave to cool for about 30 minutes.
Greese the palm of your hand with butter. Take a teaspoon of the cooled mixture and form al ball. Roll it into the sprinkles and arrange into a paper praline case.
Repeat until finished.
Store at room temperature.
You can make your own CONDENSED MILK.
Here is the recipe:
1 l milk
10 tbsp sugar
1 pouch vanilla sugar
Cook the milk, sugar and vanilla sugar over low heat until reduced by half (about 2 hours). Stir oftenly using a wooden spoon lest the milk should boil over.
Sieve and cover with plastic foil.
Refrigerate until ready to use.
