These bookends will hold your books neat, even on open-end shelves or cabinet tops.
What you need:
2 pieces of wood, 10x15x2 cm each
2 10-cm L brackets
a screwdriver and 4 screws
finishing spray (optional)
To sand the blocks, use coarse sandpaper first, followed by fine sandpaper.
When the surface is smooth, wipe it and apply paint on all sides (it’s best to use spray paint for this).
When dry, apply a design of your choice on the front side.
Paint it and leave to dry completely.
If you want to give a rustic look to the bookends, sand them again with fine sandpaper (especially the edges).
Finally, attach an L bracket using two screws to the centre of the bottom of the back side.
Arrange the books between two bookends, placing the first two books on the L bracket.
